The Kindness of Strangers...

You all know this has been a hard time for our family. There are days we are not sure we can take another step on the path of this trial...but we do.

Along the way there have been many earth angels who have shown us love and buoyed us up when we were weak.

Some of them have been people I have never even met.

Not long after Courtney passed away I received an anonymous gift in the mail. It was a jar full of "Daily Reminders of God".

There was no card, no return address, and when I called the place that had sent the gift to inquire about the sender I was never able to get anyone to answer.

Although I am sad that I was not able to send the sweet person who sent this to me a thank you - I am thankful for the anonymous gift - because I get to wonder who loves me so much that they took the time to send me something so comforting. In wondering who it could be I realize how blessed my life is with loving people...because I can think of dozens who might have sent it.

Or maybe it was a total stranger. Someone who reads my blog that I have never met. I don't know. If your reading this - thank you so much.

There are also some "strangers" we come to know from the wonderful world that the internet can bring us. Jenessa is one of those internet friends. Jenessa's husband is in the service and they are currently based in Germany.

Thought we have never met she sent me a HUGE...I MEAN HUGE box of European Chocolates along with a sweet card offering condolences and friendship.

My family went nuts. No one could believe that someone I had never met sent such a HUGE BOX of wonderful chocolates.

I had only mentioned my love of European Chocolates in passing but Jenessa remembered and her act of kindness will be remembered in my heart for years to come as well as on my hips.

My mom loves European Chocolates too! She was a flight attendant for 39 years and has traveled the world. She recognized some of the treats Jenessa sent and told me how to put a hot drink on them to warm the middle filling. Just as she was done explaining what they were we found a little note from Jenessa explaining the same thing!

I have to tell you Jenessa...I love the chocolate but anything that can put a smile on my sweet mom's face these days is worth it's weight in gold to me. Your box made for a fun evening for my kids of looking at foreign labels and enjoying yummy treats. Thank you so much for your kindness.

I have also received many emails from people I have never met...offering me condolences and words of comfort and faith. Thank you all so much.

HEARING UPDATE:
Our hearing was continued until May 7th. We ran out of time in court on April 3rd. Please continue to pray for our family and for Margie to be able to stay with my mom and dad.

Although I, too, am a stranger, I think of you often and feel for you and your darling family as you endure your trials and wade through life's despairing moments. How appropriate that so many conference talks were directed to those whose cross is difficult to bear. May the peace and comfort of the holy spirit continue to bless and lift you up in your darkest moments; and may your faith and knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father and his son's atoning sacrifice assist you as you strive to carry on...carry on...carry on...!

Hugs, Triplescoop

That is so sweet that she sent you chocolates. That brings new faith to me that there still are people out there who are so good! My faith was torn a little when I asked for help jumpstarting my car and a stranger told me no. I guess he was the exception rather than the rule. I think of you often and hope we can get together soon. Love ya and miss you!

it is funny cause many of my internet friends and I have never met and I refer to them with my "in real life" friends as my friends who live in say arizona LOL - i was so excited last night when you were able to help me with my vinyl order that I told a few friends about it and i talk about you like i have known you for years LOL so funny how small things like our faith and scrapbooking can bring us together in that way
