The Ren Fest, Very Scary Boobs, and a Hybrid Freebie!

THE REN FEST
We went to the Renaissance Festival this past weekend. We go every year. It is something we look forward to and have lots of fun doing together.

This was my first entertainment type of outing since Courtney died and I felt guilty going to do something fun. I actually called my mom in Florida before I went to get her OK to go and try to have a good time. Weird, I know. My mind is doing all kinds of weird things this last month.

Of course my wonderful mom encouraged me to go. I thought what Courtney would think if she thought I was considering staying home to mope instead of having fun with my family. The answer was clear. She would tell me I was being stupid.

So off we went. Mr. Wresh, Me, our boys and Joel's "friend who is a girl" Hillary came along with us too! It was a gorgeous day. Perfect in fact - and I enjoyed spending some time with my family.
Here are some of the highlights.

Joel and Hillary enjoying chocolate covered strawberries!

Ryan jousting

Feeding the animals with daddy

Mama and Ryan having a lunch time picnic

Joel and Hillary playing with those stick things!

Matty throwing tomatoes at a heckling comedian

Our sweet little boys sitting in the grass waiting for a show to begin.

Playing games

My Knight

My shutterbug! Ryan got a little digital camera for Christmas and he loves it!

THE BOOBS
I know that it is not nice to pick on people. I hope you will forgive me for sharing this. Do you ever see things in life that you just cannot stop staring at? Well that was the spell that this ladies boobs had on me.

They literally stopped me in my tracks. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a very hard time editing myself. It took a lot of self restraint not to walk over to her and tell her to cover up! Not only because she was being immodest but because she looked ridiculous.

Thankfully I was able to restrain myself but I took this photo to remind us all that just because you "got it" does not mean you ought to "flaunt it". This is a definite Ren Fest DON'T!

SAY CHEESE
After the Ren Fest we all went out to dinner at Costa Vida. It was delish...sorta like Cafe Rio for all you Utah folks out there. Mr. Wresh has to mess up an otherwise lovely picture of us at dinner by smiling with chicken nachos in his mouth. Isn't he precious?

BAKERS DOZEN
If you haven't already picked up my new collection of templates you can get them right here on the blog or at TheDigiChick.

The set will be $5.00 for the month of February and then will go to a regular price of $8.99. These templates are OK for professional use with no credit required.

A LITTLE HYBRID FREEBIE
Matthew's Sunday School Teacher helped his class make flowers like this on Sunday to give to someone they love. I added a few layers and put it in a template format for you in case you would like to make some for Valentine's Day too! Thanks Sister Halbison!

A GREAT BOOK AND A PRAYER REQUEST
Since my sister died I have been reading everything I can find about life after death and what it means to me as a Latter Day Saint. My grandmother let me borrow a book called Life Everlasting and it is wonderful. While it is written from an LDS perspective I believe it can bring about a great sense of peace for anyone who has lost a loved one and has questions about life after death.

You can get a copy of the book here.

I also ask that you continue to pray for our family. We need strength as we come closer to the court date for my niece. Thanks to all of you who have prayed and continue to pray and fast for us. I tell you in all sincerity that we are strengthened by your faith and efforts on our behalf.

Seriously, HOLY BOOBIES! Actually I take back the ies part--boobies sounds way too cute for those ginormous boobs. It brings whole new meaning to the term knockers! Anyway, I'm so glad you got to go have fun, you totally deserve it!

you & your family continue to stay in my thoughts & prayers.
It looks like a whole lot of fun at the Ren Fest. Oh my STARS at those boobs. Dude, those things look like they could quite possibly take on a life of their own. And judging by the look on her face - she was none too happy. That was some amazing restraint shown on your part. I don't know if I could have done it. hehe Much love to you.

Thank you so much for sharing this terrific flower and those wonderful pics of the ren fest (I gotta agree with you on those boobs - can you imagine what she'll look like at age 70 with those hanging down to her knees?)

When I went to US (OMG! 20 years ago... time flies!!), I went to a REN festival, and I'm sure I didn't see this lady : I should remember (at least) the boobs LOL!!
I also want to let you know that I'm thinking of you and your family, and to say you that talking about your sister with your niece, nephew and family will keep her with you all, at every moment of your life. (not sure to be clear, my English is not so good). Anyway, just want to send you some love from France!

I love your blog. Thanks for posting about your sister. I am LDS and am so glad that we believe that their is life after this one. I know that does not fix all of the pain that you are going through.

I am going to have to go to your store and pick up some templates! I love digital!!!

You have me laughing at your post! Yeah, those boobs were not something to be worn "out".
I told my husband that Mr. Wresh is a man after his own heart...he too will smile for photos with a big mouth full of food.
Thanks for the hybrid freebie :)

Are those stretch marks on the boobs??? I saw something very similar one year at the festival but the owner was a redhead. You just want to tell them to put those things away! I don't know if you got my message but I was feeling promptings to call you and I did but I didn't get to talk to you and I'm still thinking about you. Call me when you get a chance. I love ya and we miss you guys!

Getting out and having fun does your mind good. I lost my little brother a few years ago..the pain is still here..just more manageable. I am sorry for your loss.

The boob pic and comment made me laugh, I had a similar sighting when I lived in san Diego. We were at the Zoo and all the men around me were staring at something, I looked and it was this woman with huge boobs..in a low cut tank top! I really shoulda took a pic, amazing really..I would never wear a top like that..esp not where kids could be.

*I live in Mesa now and almost when to the Ren Festival..I wonder if I would have seen her or her boobs rather..I would have laughed hysterically.

LOL just yankin' your chain. WOW those are some tig-ole-bitties (as my hunny would say) ROFL. Thanks for the chuckle. Thanks for the digi-goodies too!

Hope all is well with you and your family. I know it never goes away but just gets a little easier with time. I hope and pray I never have to go through what you have been through. You are STRONG! God bless you!!!
