The Scrapbook Convention, Fairy Doors, a Freebie, and so much more!!!

I hope ya'll had a great week! I have lots to share with you so let's get started!

First though...did ya'll notice that I fixed my header! I changed it up a little and I think it looks so cute...plus you can see our picture now!

THE SCRAPBOOK CONVENTION
Well there is good news and bad news about the Scrapbook Convention.

The good news is that I had such a good time with my friend Molly. Molly is one of those friends that knows all the worst things about you. You can tell her when you have thought (or done) something you shouldn't have...and it just doesn't matter...she still loves you.

Those kinds of friends are hard to come by. Thank for going with me Molly...sure love ya sister!

The bad news is the Convention was kinda boring. There was really not a lot that was new or exciting. We still managed to find a few treasures to take home so it could not have been all bad!

Here are some pictures of the day.

Lots of layouts to see and buy.

Sure love you Molly!

LUNCH AT MRS. WHITES GOLDEN RULE CAFE
After we left the convention we were hungry and headed out to get some lunch. I am not a fan of eating at chain restaurants...mom and pop places are always so much better.

Let me tell you...it doesn't get much more mom and pop than Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe in Downtown Phoenix.

Molly had never been there so I asked here if she was up for an adventure!

You cannot judge Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe by the looks alone. The outside is brick painted gold (natch) with simple signage. Inside the decor is sparse...if at all. The menu is scribbled on the wall in handwriting that is less than perfect.

Over the years many celebrities have eaten at Mrs. White's and often are invited to autograph the walls...so the walls are covered with Sharpie Marker autographs...largely from black celebrities, athletes, and politicians. It is very cool.

The food at Mrs. Whites is a mix of Soul Food/Southern Food and it so dang good. Molly and I had Chicken Fried Steaks, Red Beans and Rice, Black Eyed Peas, Yams, Corn Bread, and Lemonade. Then we moaned and groaned all the way home about how full we were.

I have been there a half dozen times or so and it is always good. Mr. Wresh was thrilled with the leftovers I brought home. He is a fan of the Cat Fish at Mrs. White's.

Seriously...if you are in Downtown Phoenix head on over for lunch...your belly will thank you for it!

The menu scribbled on the wall.

Did I mention they also serve Ox Tail? Yum.

More pictures of the interior.

The counter.

I tried to take a picture of all the yummy food for ya'll to see but Molly's boobs are the real stars of this picture.

Nice rack sis.

While we were eating an older couple came in to have lunch and sat in the booth behind us.

Everyone in the restaurant came over to take pictures with them, shake hands, or just to say hello.

Molly and I, of course being extremely nosy, asked our waitress who he was.

It turns out that the gentleman sitting behind Molly is Mr. Calvin C. Goode. He is a former Phoenix City Council Member and Civil Rights Activist. He even has a building in Phoenix named after him! He seemed very kind, said hello to us, and gave us a sweet smile!

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
Let me tell you...I am positively HIGH. From about right now until after the New Year is my favorite time of the year.

I love the holidays so much! I love the decorating, the activities, baking, planning, shopping, being busy, feeling overwhelmed in a good way...I love all of it!

Not only do we have the holidays but there are also lots of family birthdays this time of year...Ryan, my nephew Chase, Mr. Wresh, and my niece Margaret all have birthdays too, so it is a really special time of year!

This week we took out some (not all!) of our Halloween decorations!

Check 'em out!

This is Fred. Fred is dead. He is hanging out in our front door window.

Do you like my No tacky No Soliciting Sign? I just hate door to door sales.

THE FAIRY'S ARE MOVING IN!
Oh my gosh...I must be a little late to the game but I just found out about Fairy Doors!

Have you seen these little things?

They have a TON that you can buy at Etsy.com

I bought this one for $10. When it comes I am going to install it in a wall in our house down near the base boards. Is it not the cutest?

The Fairy Door that will be "built" into one of our walls!

Getting a special delivery from Mr. and Mrs. Fairy

Last night we got a special delivery from the Fairies who are going to be moving into our house. It was a little scroll wrapped in a red ribbon that Daddy found on the front porch. This is what it said:

Dear Ryan, Matthew, and the Wresh Family

It is with great excitement that Mrs. Fairy and I are writing to let you know that we will be moving into your home!

I am Mr. Fairy and my wife is Mrs. Fairy. We are Good Luck Fairies. We like to live where there is much love and laughter and we think your home is the perfect place for us!

We are still packing our bags but soon you will find that we have built a little door into one of your walls. We will live inside the walls of your home. Don’t worry about us. We will have everything we need there! Please do not ever try to open our little door. We are very shy and if you ever saw us we would have to move away.

We love to bring good luck to special families. If you ever have a special problem that you need help with you can leave a note on the floor outside our door and we will do everything we can to help you! If you need some good luck on a test or with anything else...just let us know and we will rub magic good luck fairy dust all over the house while you sleep.

We know we will be very happy living with your happy family and cannot wait to bring you lots of good luck!

By the way...from time to time Mrs. Fairy and I like to leave special gifts. Sometimes it is gold coins and other times we like to leave little presents. We leave these gifts for you when we see you being kind to one another or trying hard to be your best in all that you do!

With Love,
Mr. and Mrs. Fairy

We are so excited about Mr. and Mrs. Fairy moving in! When their door gets here and they are all settled in we will post some pictures!

LAZY JACK-O-LANTERNS
This weeks vinyl offering is so fun! Vinyl for your pumpkin! This is a set of 4 faces that are each about 4.5 inches in height and width. You can cut them into different pieces and arrange them any way you like.

An added benefit of the vinyl is that you can use them to decorate your pumpkins earlier in the month. Then as Halloween draws near you can use them as a guide to carve your pumpkins. In doing this you can have decorated pumpkins all month without worrying about your pumpkins rotting too early and not being fresh and spooky on the big night!

These sets sell for $6.00 plus shipping of $3.50 in my Etsy Shop but you get them for $5.50 INCLUDING your shipping in the Continental US right here on my blog!

I also put 7 new products in my Etsy store this week so head on over and check out what is new! Remember I do all kinds of custom orders and you can always order custom lettering at my site http://www.remarkablewalls.com/!

The Buy Now Button to purchase these babies is down below!

THE DIGI CHICK HAS A NEW LOOK!
Ya'll run on over to TheDigiChick! The whole site has a new look and to celebrate the entire store is on sale for 20% off! Party on Wayne!
MR. WRESH'S NEW GOAL
Mr. Wresh has a new goal. It is a good one. I have been trying it myself (when I remember).
His new goal is to be Relentlessly Positive.

I know. It is a tall order.

The other day when my nerves were shot from the craziness of the day Mr. Wresh was so sweet. He tried to turn all the stressful happenings of the day into something positve to think about and appreciate. I was totally impressed that he was able to do it without being totally irritating! :)

Try it...let me know how it works for you!

BLOG TREAT
Here is a little template for you to fool around with this weekend!

hey kim.
i LOVE the idea of the lazy jack-o-lanterns! you may be seeing an order from me soon. i am not totally sure i'll be decorating this year.

i have a fairy that lives in my bedroom although mine will let you see her. i think she is just wonderful. she came to live with me after my trip to new york in 05.

good friends can make almost anything 100% better can't they? looks like you two made the most out of you day regardless. i am like you tho, i think mom and pop places are the best. here in st. louis there are TONS of local places that are just de*lish. it doesn't do your waistline any good but hey.

Good luck with trying the relentlessly positive thing. I think men have it easier as they don't have all these emotions/hormones that make them all frustrated.

Thanks bunches for the template.

Sorry for the book.
